I am wondering if it would be -acceptable- to follow up with the manager for the position under the following circumstances:
There is a restaurant (Five Guys, lets call them "Burger World" That is opening up 16 new locations over 3 years. One is open already, and the other - in the enxt town over - i applied to 3 weeks ago. I interviewed with the original manager, mark. All was looking good, i had my Resume and dressed in full Busienss attire for my interview.
Then, when the new restaurant opened up, he was transferred to the open location for suport. he is no longer in charge of hiring. He passed my application and resume to the new Hiring Manager, Merv. The Day after memorial Day, after following up with Mark two times in the previous week (Thursday and Memorial Day which is what we agreed on, talking to Mark at the new store, who originally was going to hire me but couldnt or didnt get the chance to in a good word for me) i went to see Merv in person at the location.
I interviewed with merv. I -think- the Interview went well. I detailed my Fast Food experience (everything but making the Burgers, when he asked) and He said "Im fine" when i gave a detailed answer to a question about where i wanted to be in 10 years, highlighting that i saw myself moving up if i wasnt doing anything i wasnt supposed to be doing, and we were talking over a loud air compressor, as they are opening in 11 days, June 8th. I asked him as indirectly as i could after the interview (maybe directly, i forget) about me working there or if i could start, and he said he wanted to interview the rest of the people that put in an application and he would call who he wanted. I then explained that my phone would likely be off, so i pointed out my e-mail address on my Resume and he said yes he also e-mails people all the time.
I really want this job, The competition is pretty intense. They open on June 8th in Grove City.
it is a good idea to go to the store in person tomorrow, after having gone Tuesday, to follow up? *I do NOT have a Phone Number that i can call to this location in Grove City, it is not posted yet it is everyone's cell phone and i did not ask him for it, because that is definitely unprofessional.
Please give your advice here... he did retrieve my applciation and Resume, and i wonder if following up will 1) Show that I do in fact want the job (and what should i say?) or 2) may be bad. I say again.. THEY ARE OPENING IN 11 DAYS and he did let me know they are NOT yet fully hired.
Thank You. Sincerely, - JosephIs it OK for me to follow up a 2nd time for this Job? Detaisl inside, they open in 11 Days...?
Definitely contact him, let him know you are still interested. What to say, is simply you are interested and checking back on the position. He will be appreciative if he was interested. If for any reason he was wavering between you and someone else, you can tip the scales in your favor. Is it OK for me to follow up a 2nd time for this Job? Detaisl inside, they open in 11 Days...?
yes go back let them see you are really wanting to work for them
