The game is played for the challenge rather than just for fun (although they obviously wouldn't play it if they didn't enjoy it). They're arguably the most dedicated gamers, but also the ones who get pissed off easier upon dieing.

A casual gamer plays just for fun. The rankings aren't important, they play the game to pass time and to keep themselves entertained.
