You can't transfer achievements between profiles though, so you will not be able to move your achievements to your new Xbox Live account. Not really an issue unless your new account is a paid up GOLD one. Otherwise, just change the profile with your achievements into an Xbox Live SILVER account from the dashboard.

Im not the best at first person shooters, especially CoD's multiplayer, hehehe. Do i need to be a veteran of FPS games to "enjoy" CoD? Mostly online. I would also like to add that i like game modes like team deathmatch, free for all and capture the flag. Oh and im allot better when i work with other players, like zombie mode or team DM.Do i need to be a skilled FPS gamer to enjoy Call of Duty in general?I'm pretty decent at Black ops most days, but when I'm having a bad session, I do tend to get annoyed with myself, so it kind of depends on your temperament.

COD's strong suit is NOT teamwork. It's very much an individual game, even in TEAM deathmatch. If you want a good teamwork experience, you will probably need to invite a few friends who have mics to play with you. Otherwise, you may occasionally stumble upon a few players who know what they're doing. In general, your team will have one or two people who really don't know what they're doing. Makes more sense now then doesn't it. Could be some settings on the TV that need fine tuning with regards to color. Are you running your TV in game mode? Some TV's have this option and causes the colors to not be as warm for fear that it will burn in the screen, maybe reset the video color settings and see fit his fixes it. You cannot change it. It's just the way the game is made so that people can distinguish between enemy and ally. Some people need that.

What should a gamer look for in a monitor?

Dell has a special on a 22" monitor (E228WFP) and I am wondering if this monitor would work well with games. They also sell higher end gaming monitors which is what makes me re-think if this is a good purchase? All I do on this PC is play games... the work is done on a laptop. Thoughts?What should a gamer look for in a monitor?"Highend gaming monitors are for the most part overrated. the best monitors for playing games on were the older CRT's, serioulsy. it is all about the refresh rates when it comes ot monitors. the newer ones only refresh to 60Hz, or 60 maximum fps. older crt's had refresh rates of 120hz and up. some companies show resonse times in ms like that has anyhting to do with performance. the eye can't detect past 60Gps and it doesn't notice response times faster than 5ms.

The reaosn we use lcd's today and not crt's is simple, certs are big and cluncky, plus we can get a 24in lcd for the same price of a 19crt easily.

So, here's how oyu find the monitor that's best for you. figure out what kind of graphics card oyu have. this is what will determine the resolution of the game you play at, more so than the monitor ever would. if you are playing highend games on an integrated graphcs card, emdia accelerator, gma, or anything like that, well a 17 in monitor is all you'd need. if oyu have a decent stand alone card, somehting form the lower 8000,9000 series form nvidia or the 3000 series and lower 4000 series form ati, then a 20-22 in screen at maximum resolution of 1680x1050 is the most you'd be able to use. if oyur graphics card is a higherend 8800, 9800, gtx series or upper 4000 series card form ati then 24in monitors and above can be used with great results.

You can still buy a big monitor if that's what you want, it's just that durring games on a lower end card, you will have to dial down the resolution so the game doesn't gitter out of controll.

So, moral of the story? buy whatever you want, for the most part any monitor will look great, and there is no need to fall for the hype of "gaming monitors"

I personally recommend the HP w2207h which can be rotated clockwize (the screen), it has very pronounced bright colors, it has a glossy-finish, has two usb ports on the side, has integrated speakers and only costs 400$. I bought it and I must say it's very nice.

Also, it has a VGA and HDMI port so you can plug in a PS3 or Xbox 360 if you have one.

I am not a Hardcore gamer and Zelda is not really that hardcore, its pretty easy and it is mainly a big puzzle and if you need help check a walkthru and the gameplay is really fun. Now, they are both good games, if your into the whole getting from point A to B while killing hordes of zombies. If your in Australia probably get LFD 1 because the second one has been censored in australia.

Now be warned though, I played this game online constantly for about a month and it didn't get boring, although I did have at least 2 friends playing with me all the time with all of us on microphones so we could plan stuff out all the time and joke around. After the month I got into another game but LFD was still hell fun. Now, I got the second one and never played it online and it was fun for about a week then it got boring. I was playing co op most of the time with my brother.

Personally I would say go for another game you can get more out of SO I will give an example.

GTA 4, for the awesome free roam and 1000s of missions to do and even if you dont want to do missions you can have fun free roaming everywhere.

Fallout 3, even longer gameplay and even more missions, best one player game in my personally opinion at the moment. Awesome free roam.

I did a check and apparently I dont even have a video card. I have the 32 bit version of vista. I've never really dealt with video cards before, but don't want anything real fancy. What type of graphics slot do you have on your PC? If you purchased it within the past 2-3 years, you probably have a PCIe slot. If it's older than that, it's probably AGP.

If you're gonna buy an AGP card, it might be tough to find a decent one, since it's been an outdated technology for a few years. But a decent AGP card might be about 90-100 or so.

If you're talking about PCIe, then probably in the 120+ range.

If your motherboard isn't crossfire compatible, which it likely isn't, then stick with an nvidia card. Try searching on http://www.newegg.com/ or http://www.tigerdirect.com/ for graphics cards in your price range.

This is my list of things to do on videogames.
If you want to be a gamer, there are several things to consider. First, do you want to be a consol gamer or a PC gamer. Consol games are typically more limited in scope, simply because of the limitations on your control surface. However, they make very nice shooters. PC games tend to be cheaper (especially when you look at the price drop in the first 6 months compared to consol games) than consol games. Generally, complex simulations of reality and strategy games are usually better off on a PC (Civilization or X-Com, for example). Another thing to consider is graphics quality. Consols sort of standardize graphics, due to the uniform hardware. With a PC you are limited to what you put in your platform, but if you have the cash (1200 will get you a pretty up-to-date gaming rig) you will have superior quality. Keep in mind that even the day after an X-Box 360 was released, most players were still locked into the resolution of their TV sets (in general, bad). Even the most basic CRT monitor on a PC is generally going to have a clearer picture than a television set.

If you want to get a team going, I suggest a shooter of some sort. CS is a very good game for that (PC), and one of the Halo games is the undisputed champion for at least the X-Box. Another option would be something like Starcraft. While Starcraft was released for consols as well, I am unsure of the support for onlline play. Certainly the interface for an RTS such as Starcraft is vastly superior on a PC.

Consider:

2) Availability of Games

3) Genre

4) Interests

I assume you mean "pro gamer" like getting paid to play. If so, you have to start entering tournaments. There's a big one every year in Vegas that goes along with a gaming convention. You should search the internet for gaming tournaments locally(really going to depend on where you live, ie near a big city). Well, obviously a gamer is someone who plays games. Most of the time they're just fat slobs who drool over their XBoxes all day, but there are tournaments with cash prizes. Game designers...well there are a whole range of topics there. They're the people who make the games. If you get into game design, you could be in programming, level design, object design, character design, modeling, pre-rendered graphics, conceptual artistry, sound engineering, synching, animator, customer service, marketing, etc.

MANY careers there. So maybe as your child gets older and his/her interests become more clear, you could suggest one of those paths to get him/her into game design. But to make money, you need to be the BEST. That means high marks in math for most of it.

No matter what you mean though, there is no way to move anything between accounts. If you wanted you points on your Xbox Live account, you should have made your offline account into an online one.

Edit: You should be able to sign into your offline account, and then go to the Guide (the bladed pop-up that shows up when you press the center button on the controller). From there choose "Join Xbox Live" and you should be able to choose to use an existing account (your offline one).

I've played a lot of shooters and even the old CS but CS Source is quite a game. There are REALLY good people out there playing that game. As long as you don't get caught up in the chatting or ratios (personal amount of kills vs deaths) you can have a really good time.

Just find a smaller server where there aren't guys AWPing heads off and play. When you die, take the opportunity to watch other players and pick up tips. I chose the game because my scheduled allows for minimal free time and I needed something I could pick up and put down whenever.

That said, I've played very few times over the last 3 weeks and I've made major improvement. I can hold my own and after a while killing 2 or 3 guys before you go down starts to become a bit normal. Since they don't focus on any one console, there's no way to guarantee the person buying the magazine will have the right console to run a demo disc. Even if they included one for computers, people who don't play PC games may not have a good enough PC to play PC game demos (especially if its like, Crysis or something).

But if you read GameInformer you'll be getting news about gaming of all types, not just PC games.

Of course, there's always the internet which has all sorts of coverage (immediately instead of next month), and there are plenty of sites where you can download PC game demos. For PS3/360 demos you'd have to look to their online services, I have Xbox Live on my 360 and download demos now and then.

It would have been helpful if you had listed words or nicknames for yourself instead of just saying give me names.
