I have never been a gamer in my life. What's a good starter for someone who is interested yet inexperienced?

I'm a guy. I want something with a lot of action that could keep my attention, but then again wouldn't be too difficult or overwhelming. I would prefer something that doesn't require a subscription. I'm open to any and all suggestions.I have never been a gamer in my life. What's a good starter for someone who is interested yet inexperienced?there's lots of games on facebook including the price is right and family feud. and pogo is fun but if you aren't in club pogo you will get ads but there are a lot of games in there. including poker, scrabble, puzzles, and word games. have funI have never been a gamer in my life. do you have a console, or are you talking about on the pc

if your on the pc and want a long lasting game ... you should try kingsage.org or ogame.org or ikariam.org

if your looking for just a normal video game which is basically not too hard - try assassins creed either 1 or 2

and if you got a console - same assassins creed - gears of war is a nice game for the console too.I have never been a gamer in my life. What's a good starter for someone who is interested yet inexperienced?Play the original Half-Life
Try the game runescape

i know that eveyrone will flame me for suggesting this

but when I was 10 I started this game and I enjoyed it

it doens't even require a download, you can run it on your browser right now

there is a subscription but it is OPTIONAL, ,meaning you can play the FULL free version

the only difference is members get more places to go and more stuff but the free version gives you a lot of freedom

try it out, see if you enjoy it

Also, I happen to recommend a ton of indie / obscure games that aren't really mainstream, but w/e.

Indie Platformer : Cave Story (http://www.cavestory.org/) - a free retro platform shooter that has fun gameplay / interesting weapons that creates an overall awesome game.

Platformer : Mario (it's mario, just google it) - what's there to say? The mario series is both casual / hardcore and is a classic.

'Nother Indie Platformer : Spelunky (http://www.spelunkyworld.com/) free generated dungeons for you to explore; it's pretty awesome.

No classification : Liero (http://www.liero.be/) - free two person (yes, you can play with an ai, but honestly, the ai sucks) pvp game where you play as worms with ninja rope and awesome weapons / destructible terrain. I honestly carry around this game with me in a USB and play it with my friends all the time.

MMO : Vindictus (http://vindictus.nexon.net/) - free action mmo (massive multiplayer online) game with kinda interesting (note: button mashing) action and interesting stuff. It's kinda new, but the game is awesome.

I would recommend you DoTA here, but it's not really newbie friendly; if you wanna find out about it, I suggest googling League of Legends.

Mainstream stuff : CoD, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls (okay, not really mainstream), God of War - all fun games, but honestly, typing that stuff out is a waste of time and any website that covers games (ign / pcgamer) already covers that stuff out for you in a big list (SEE: http://pc.ign.com/articles/113/1136656p1.html).

Gl and hf (Good luck and have fun) gaming!I have never been a gamer in my life. What's a good starter for someone who is interested yet inexperienced?
