Undercooked meat and cat litter.... please help?

ok so I have two questions.... last night I was at a friends house eating hamburgers I took two bits out of my burger and then realized that it was under cooked and pink inside. what do you think my chances of my baby getting this toxoplasmosis thing is??? I am really worried about that also I have two cats that share one litter box and we have had to move the litter box into our bedroom I dont change it and my husband changes it once a week sometimes twice if its really bad but is the location of the litter box still a bad place in which I could get toxoplasmosis????I am 18w4dUndercooked meat and cat litter.... please help?
If you have to change a litter box always use gloves and wash your hands after wards. Also, most women have already become immune to toxoplasmosis. The warning is just to make sure that there isn't any complications because you cannot be sure of your immunities unless you have been tested. If you ate a little meat you are most likely safe, just do the best you can to make sure the meat is cooked well. Everyone worries about this when they are pregnant. If someone else can change the litter box for you then that would be the best solution. However, using gloves and washing your hands best avoids this. If you are unsure about your immunity you can ask your doctor to get you a test to find out for you.Undercooked meat and cat litter.... please help?
Pink meat is still cooked you should be ok as for cats, you canget your doctor to give you blood work to make sure you are ok but if you have been around them most of you life them you should be ok just keep letting your husband change it also dont let them jump on you as they do claw in the litter and the litter powder can get on you and your clothesUndercooked meat and cat litter.... please help?
its very very rare to contract toxoplasmosis...you would have to basically change the cat litter, touch a piece of the cat poop (assuming your cats actually are actively dealing with the disease) and then go eat some food without washing your hands.

if your cats are indoor cats - they don't kill outside birds or mice - its VERY unlikely they have this scenerio going on.

you should never change cat litter while pregnant regardless...with 2 cats, he should be changing the litter every week - at least 2 times a week. and yes, you should get it out of the bedroom...because of the dust and smell...cat litter is made to absorb pee and poop...its very dusty and stinky.

i was tested for toxo.. and was told i never contracted it, though i did have an outdoor kitty when i was little who loved to leave us dead birdies all the time...so its not that easy to be 'immune' to it...don't assume you are. but chances are good, my kitty never had it either.

just stay away from cat boxes and don't stress about the pink middle of your hamburger...it happens. i know its worrisome and scary, but if every woman who accidentally ate a little pink in hamburger - had a miscarriage...they would tell pregnant women to avoid hamburger ALL together.

:)
OK, so I answers a similar question a few nights ago on here. The lady also had cats and was worried about getting toxoplasmosis. If you have grown up with cats most of your life, then you are probably already immuned to the feline disease. You can have blood work done at your doctor's to test for it I believe, but you sound fine to me. I'm 2 days over due and grew up around cats my entire life, and worked around one up until about 2-3 weeks ago. My stubborn unborn son is healthy as a pea :) Also, if you had two bites of the burger, you're ok - but make sure that whoever is making you food/or food that you're cooking is well done from now on...especially burgers. If you want to go out and have a steak (medium won't hurtcha) :) But, just make sure the temperature of the meat is always warm in the middle.

ALSO, I would get the cat litter out of your room...I'd atleast put it in the bathroom. Or in the basement? Even if you're immuned to toxoplasmosis, don't change the littler and make sure he's changing it 2-3 times every week. The fumes aren't good for you regardless.
